We are privileged to live in a beautiful place

The World Heritage Listed Great Barrier Reef is on our doorstep. Our flora and fauna are endangered, our rivers, seas and springs in peril and the Reef is under existential threat.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report shows our future depends upon urgent climate action. This is a code red for humanity. To promote science-based research to preserve the natural environment for public appreciation and enjoyment.
PROTECTION
To promote projects which protect native fauna and flora and their habitats and prevent the extinction of indigenous species.
ADVOCACY
To educate and lobby decision makers and individuals for greater awareness and better outcomes relating to the conservation of our region.
CONSERVATION
To facilitate access for people of all abilities to the natural environment for their appreciation, education and enjoyment.
GET INVOLVED
To foster an active involvement of the community to carry out the objects of our Association.

The Whitsunday Conservation Council acknowledges the Ngaro, Gia, Juru and Birri People, the Traditional Custodians of the land and seas upon which we meet to conduct our activities.  We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
